Jackson Township is located in Butler County. It was created from parts of both Cranberry Township and Connoquenessing Township and was established in 1854. The newly created township was named after President Andrew Jackson.
 

Harmony, Evans City and Zelienople are the three towns that make up Jackson Township. Harmony was established in 1805; today is it home to over 800 residents. Evans City was established in 1882; today it is home to over 1,800 residents. Zelienople was established in 1840; today it is home to over 3,600 residents. In the year 2000, Jackson Township had an estimated 3,600 residents; today that number has almost doubled.
 

Both Interstate 79 and Route 19 run directly through Jackson Township, making it a convenient area to call home. The Seneca Valley Schools are located in the township, as well as Evans City Elementary School and Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School. Jackson Township boasts many businesses including Manheim Pittsburgh, FedEx Distribution Center, and UPS to name a few. It is made up of many great community parks, churches, a golf course, a sportsman club, numerous restaurants and shops.
